I need to take more pictures of my girls. Just more pictures of life in general. But my camera is bugging the heck out of me! I feel like it's just not taking pictures the way it used to. And I HATE pictures with the flash on, and am wondering how people get such nice bright photos' that are IN focus? I guess I need to take a course or something, or maybe read my manual!! : )

In simple terms you can use a larger aperture(smaller F. number), use a slower shutter speed or use a higher ISO. All of these will make your photos lighter. As for focus, use a steady surface or tripod and make use of auto focus until you are brave enough to use manual. These pics look adorable. I know what you mean. Some people just know how to capture the moment. It is all about knowing how to use your camera. Two P's had a 12 month long class last year "for free" with lots of information. It is still up on their photography message board.
